Summary: Conducts advanced electronic systems design and development of new or existing products or concepts for inspection equipment in the glass container industry. Background: BSEE from a 4-year college/university with 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Creates, revises, and tests electro-mechanical subsystems and their integration in overall system.
• Designs electronic circuits, schematics, wiring and cabling diagrams and printed circuit boards. Applies electrical standards such as IEEE, NEC, UL and CE.
• Establishes BOMs, work instructions, manufacturing methods, test specifications and documentation, and process flow.
• Reviews the product specification, develops the DAR and MS Project PDP
• Maintains project status, designs prototype, builds prototype, supports the field test, and the transition to manufacturing.
• Provides on-going support for existing systems and leadership on key projects as assigned.
• Interprets manufacturer specifications.
• Specifies, orders and integrates new or replacement purchased components.
• Specifies electronic components and subsystems.
• Provides technical assistance to suppliers, customers, manufacturing, purchasing and customer service. Provides technical support to sales and marketing.
• Conducts consulting, installation, testing, training, troubleshooting and other product support at customer field sites
• Fabricates, assembles and reworks parts relating to prototype and customer special devices.

 Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Provides occasional supervisory guidance to temporary employees, new hires, consultants and other assigned personnel.
