A new era is in the pipeline for Emhart Glass in Malaysia

Sundsvall, Sweden — On November 15; 2007, our President, Martin Jetter, in his capacity as officer of Emhart Glass Sdn Bhd, signed a contract with Panoramic Industrial Development Sdn. Bhd to design and erect a new factory building for our operations in Malaysia, inclusive of the purchase of the land.

The new factory will be located in the same area as the present one, in Taman Preindustrian Cemerlang, Johor Bahru. The building will cover approximately 6000 m2. Under the same contract additional land was acquired for a possible later expansion.

We expect the building to be completed within 12 months from today, followed by another 2 months for fitting out and for the transfer of our activities from our current premises.

The new building will primarily contain the assembly of new IS machines, cross conveyers, the fabrication of welded parts as well as a job shop and a warehouse. There will be additional dedicated space for training on and demonstration of both HE and CE products. Finally, this new site will also serve as home base for selected Asia-Pacific HE and CE service engineers.

The new facility will reinforce Emhart Glass’ strength in manufacturing and underline through the strong presence in Malaysia our commitment to Asia.
