Statistical Sampling & Lab Measurement

MiniLab

A MiniLab Automatic Sampling installation works in conjunction with the production’s online inspection equipment and a Factory Process Control System.  The MiniLab Controller communicates to the Process Control System which then sends a container “request” to upstream online inspection systems equipped with mold number readers.  The “requested” containers are transferred to the MiniLab sampling conveyor using container ware selectors.

The MiniLab system includes a control system (MiniLab Controller), as well as a combination of one or more of the following devices:
  • MLP sampling pressure tester with capacity / volume measurement
  • ISIS automatic dimensional gauging and weight measurement system
  • MiniLab Mold Code Reader

MLP sampling pressure tester

The Emhart Glass MLP is a better alternative to older sampling pressure testing systems. Besides meeting the industry-accepted ASTM C-147 standard for internal pressure testing of glass containers, the MLP can be equipped with an optional Capacity measurement gauge, which is not available on any other sampling pressure testing system. The Capacity gauge accurately measures the volume of a container to any desired fill height, by compensating for flow rates, density of water and water temperature.

The capacity measurement gauge also is available as an upgrade to existing MLP systems.

ISIS automatic dimensional gauging and weight measurement system

ISIS brings state of the art vision inspection and servo-controlled container handling to precision measurement of glass containers. Using high resolution cameras and application-specific precision optics, there are currently twenty six unique kinds of measurements that can be performed on the target container dimensions, as well as measuring container weight and pushup.

The ISIS system can be programmed to measure containers from two different production lines without any job changes.

MiniLab Mold Code Reader

MiniLabMdReadcrop.jpg The MiniLab Mold Code Reader reads all common heel dot codes (round glass containers) and enables correlation of measurement data from the ISIS and/or MLP Plus to the mold number of the containers being tested.
