The latest innovation in glass manufacturing technology is the Plunger Process Control 2 (PPC2) from Bucher Emhart Glass. This system is built on the foundation of the existing Plunger Process Control system from Bucher Emhart Glass. It combines established screens that users are familiar with, along with the FlexIS UC2 architecture, ensuring ease of use.

The PPC2 provides a modern interface for systematic data extraction, allowing glass producers to gain key process insights for each container formed on the machine.

PPC2 is the standard for all new machine and upgrade projects. The system design facilitates an easy upgrade path for existing machines equipped with PPC1. Upgrading to PPC2 can usually be performed without stopping production. It involves replacing the PPC1 Master with the new PPC2 components which can be prepared while the machine still produces. The removed PPC1 Master can be retained as a spare in the glass plant.
